| | | | Southwest Florida Youth Lacrosse League NEWS! | | | | | |
Our league promotes the growth and development of youth Boys Lacrosse and Girls Lacrosse in Southwest Florida.
Great news this year! The lacrosse clubs from Southwest Florida – Fort Myers, Estero, and Naples – have come together to form a parent organization, FLYLAX, in order to provide oversight and consistency of program rules, regulations and scheduling. Together with our members, we will work to make this a bigger, better and stronger league to support the growth of lacrosse in Southwest Florida.
Good news! As many of you may know, the Sharks home field at Villas is closed in January for maintenance. The Estero Club, The Gorillas, has offered us to practice at their field in Three Oaks beginning January 24. Many parents, players and coaches have requested more practice time prior to our games which begin in March, so this is a wonderful opportunity.
The league is currently open to boys and girls age 6-15... from Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Lehigh, Estero, Bonita... and all parts of Lee County.

the league. If you have equipment to donate please contact any of our Board
of Directors by email or call Cheryl Thirtyacre at 239-989-2880 we will get it from you.
SPONSORS
SWFYLL is always seeking interested parties to help sponsor our league.
We are a non profit organization. Each year the cost of lacrosse increases and we have never raised the amount to join. We need sponsors to offset the cost of running our league.
If you know of someone or are interested your self, this is a terrific tax write off!!
We would love your donation!

The 2011 Lacrosse Season hosted approximately 100 dedicated kids and families. Coaches hailed the season as one of the most dynamic and fun seasons yet. Ted Cassidy, President, long time coach and veteran player took over the league last year and looks forward to providing leadership to the SWFYLL Board, players and families.
As Mike Reilly headed north, the league honored him by establishing the annual Mike Reilly Award. Alise Flanjack, team Mom and proud staff member of the Parks and Recreation Department for Lee County, was named second recipient of the honorary award for her outstanding service to the league this season. She follows Cheryl Thirtyacre, our 2010 recipient.
